FORGED STEEL FLANGED LIFT CHECK VALVE

A non—return valve is a device designed for the smooth passage of liquid, gaseous or mixed working media through a pipeline in one direction and providing automatic shut-off of the flow in case of a change in direction. Since the reverse flow of the working medium, as a rule, occurs when the compressor malfunctions or there is an emergency on the pipeline, the check valve is classified as a protective pipe fitting. Nevertheless, there are some types of valves that, depending on the design, are more likely to be safety valves. According to their design, check valves come in several types: lifting, rotary, ball, plunger, and others. However, among all the listed valves, only two types are distinguished in a special way — this is a rotary check valve and a lifting check valve, which are most widely used in the nuclear, oil, gas, chemical industries and many other industries. The popularity of check valves is explained by the simplicity of their design, reliable tightness, reliability and efficiency in operation, as well as excellent maintainability and low cost of the product. The lifting check valve consists of a body similar to the body of a shut-off valve and a gate that performs reciprocating movements perpendicular to the direction of movement of the working medium, thereby opening and closing the flow. Since the gate is mounted on the seat under its own weight, the check valve is mostly installed on horizontal sections of pipelines. However, there are varieties of check valves for inclined and vertical sections of pipelines, the design of which uses a spring that performs the functions of an additional clamping element. In other words, lifting check valves are divided into spring-loaded and spring-free. The rotary check valve has a gate, which, under the influence of the flow of the working medium, rotates around the horizontal axis at a certain angle, thereby ensuring an unobstructed passage. At the moment when the flow stops or starts moving in the wrong direction, the shutter closes under the weight of its own weight. Since check valves of the appropriate size were previously used on pipelines of large diameters, it sometimes happened that when the heavy gate was slammed, the device failed. In addition, when the valve was triggered, the likelihood of a hydraulic shock in the pipeline system increased.
